Welcome to Linton Parish Council

Linton is a Parish in South Derbyshire, 5 miles South East of Burton on Trent. The population of the civil parish taken from the 2011 Census was 2,303. Nearby settlements are the Town of Swadlincote and the villages of Castle Gresley, Church Gresley, Overseal, Rosliston and Cauldwell.

​Linton Village is located in South Derbyshire at the heart of the National Forest. Many former fields to the South of the village are now wooded areas, forming part of the National Forest. It consists of a Primary School, a Convenience Store, one Public House, 2 Recreation Grounds, Allotments, an Orchard, one Church, one Chapel, a Village Hall, Community Room called the Brick Room and Rickman’s Corner Community Hall.

The Parish Council usually meet at 7pm on the 2nd Tuesday of the month (no August meeting) at The Brick Rooms, Main Street, Linton. Members of the press and public are welcome to observe. Parish Councils are often described as the ‘most approachable’ layer of Local Government. Our Parish Councillors are part of the community and are unpaid. They are often the first port of call with local issues.

Linton Allotments

 

Linton Parish Council own some allotment plots situated behind the properties on Linton Heath.

At present we have a couple of plots vacant. If you wish to make an application: Please contact the Parish Council Clerk: clerk@linton-pc.org.uk

 Once all plots are full, a waiting list will come into effect. If you would like to be added to the waiting list please complete the below form and either email this back to the Clerk or send by post to: The Clerk, Linton Parish Council, 110 New Road, Newhall, Swadlincote, Derbyshire DE11 0TH.
